OWARI
Old writings tell us SHIGAZEKI and NAOE SHIZU are of a common
well-spring. A lineage line of older dates tangle these smiths
together. Attempts at untangling, reveal two lines, earlier and
later:
Footpath from MINO: * NAOE SHIZU KANETSUGU
* NAOE SHIZU KANENOBU O-CHO 1311
* 1st OWARI KANENOBU BUN-PO 1317
* 2nd OWARI KANENOBU KEM-MU 1334
Confusion seems to clear, respective of
O-EI and KAMAKURA, with the later troupe:
SHIGA Group: A dark KANEUJI-style O-ITAME with MASAME.
CHU-SUGU KO-MIDARE, GUNOME-TOGARI MIDARE and O-GUNOME
MIDARE with SUNAGASHI. Thinly laid NIE in deep NIOI.
