Hirosuke Koji 1555
was the son of
Yoshisuke. Shimada is
highy influenced with Soshu
Den. Katana are 2
shaku, 2 or 3
sun. Deep Jitetsu of
"no bottom".
Hamon are Nioi-deki.
The examples of
Hirosuke are famous for the
most imposing Sugata of the
school, resembling SoshuDen
Nambokucho Dambira. He is a
true Shimada great. His
works are considered
superior to Sukemune.

The three famous
Masters of the Bungi 1501
era are linked together by
their direct association and
shared work: Ise Muramasa -
Heianjo Nagayoshi and
Shimada Yoshisuke.
Hirosuke was
protege, loved head-student
and would become Headmaster
the Shimada school, which he
expanded into it's full
flowering and carried it
forth throughout the Sengoku
and Momoyama.
Hirosuke is considered an
equal to Yoshisuke in both
quality and fame.
