Naotane Tanto
Strong 12" blade with thick Kasane
and very good, tight Hada. I have examined this
piece and will state in my opinion, it is a
well-forged and fine quality sword. Polish is
old. There may be a drifting Utsuri through the
Ji area.
Rather elegant Hoso-Suguha to Ko-Maru turn. I
have examined the Mei and am surprised to see it
looks good - Signed Taikei Naotane (Cao).
I have shown pictures to a friend who points out
it is either a good Naotane or Naokatsu's son
Kajihei who is famous for Naotane copies. For
me, the actual sword is always key, is it
quality work? - And it is.
Good Namban Tsuba - typical double Sukashi and
Gold Nunome. This is a "closet find" a Yoga and
mediation master received it years ago from his
teacher. They never had the Tsuka off.
