Yoshinaga went to Kyoto with his father, Munenaga, where both father and son learned carving from Shinto great, Umetada Myoju.  They are the top distinguished carvers in history and rank with Shinto great, Kotetsu and with Shinshinto Yoshitane, brother of Naotane, of the Masahide School.
Yoshinaga’s carving will be found on The greatest Hizen smiths, Shodai Tadayoshi, Nidai Tadahiro, Yoshifusa and Shodai Masahiro.
