Tanobei Sayagaki reads: 
"Seishu Kuwana ju Muramasa"
"Although it is Ubu Nakago Mumei, it displays the characteristics of the first generation Muramasa outstandingly"
"This smith is called Uemon no Jo and the period is ca. Bunki 1501"
"The Edge length is a little less than 1 shaku, 8 sun, 9 bu = 57.0cm 22.5"
"Recorded by Tanzan (Tanobe Michihiro) in the early morning of late April of the year of the Goat, Heisei 15,  2003"
 
Note: Katate-Uchi, "One Handed Fighting Sword" were long swords. The Japanese produced this Daito style from the period of Bun-mei 1469 through Ten-mon 1532. Through most of the Sengoku, when the fight would be one to one in battle, the Katatechi was the favored weapon for three generations.  See Katateuchi
Any sword having a Nagasa of 21 3/4" to 25 1/2" from those Koto times was not a Wakizashi but the famous Katateuchi. Many of the great swords and treasure pieces from that era, by Muramasa to Yozozaemon were made in this Sugata. Katateuchi is the predominant style of the Sengoku.
