Kawachi Kunihira is at the top of the Gendai smiths. As his work exceeds others, 
               he is thought likely to attain "Living National Treasure" status
Kawachi Kunihira has been Mukansha since 1987
He is in line for Living National Treasure. - Which would bring his pieces to a very high increased valuation.

Heritage: He is the direct line from Kawachi-no-Kami Kunisuke

He is the present Cultural Property for the Yoshino Area (Yamato)
He was the student of the Living National Treasure Miyairi Shohei

So good, "if you darkened the tang and polished it down, it'd make Kunimitsu Bunkazai! Just perfect."

He restored many of the famous Nara pieces.
Kunihira is the Visiting Art Instructor for the Art Research Institute of the Graduate School of the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music
