Kazari "Jeweled" Nagamitsu Tachi


There is an exact match for this Koshirae in the Boston MuseumSee Catalogue
The Boston, however, has a Mumei sword blade, no signature, and has a different Family Mon. The Boston Museum acquired their piece from the Bigelow Collection in 1911 and until the discovery of this matching Koshirae, theirs was thought the only extant example in the world. 
We also have now found the existence a Juyo Koshirae and sword in Japan.


Nagamitsu
Not Bizen. This is a genuine Mei and has received the 
Hozon paper in it's present un-polished state.
The NBTHK has asked that the blade be re-submitted after polish for higher grade appraisal and to define the actual Province for this Nagamitsu.


Polishing will allow them to specify one 
of the only possible individuals: 
Shikkake Nagamitsu - Yamato
Hasebe Nagamitsu - Yamashiro

Also possible:
Gassan Nagamitsu - Dewa
Mihara Nagamitsu - Bingo
